CONSULTATION ON HUMAN RIGHTS HELD

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The UN Human Rights Council will hold a discussion and make a conclusion to the human rights situation in Mongolia on November 23 this year.
In connection with this event, Center for Human Rights and Development in association with the Glob International NGO organized a workshop and consultation themed “NGO's preparation for the discussion of UN Human Rights Council” in Ulaanbaatar on January 10-12, 2010, with a support of the Asia Forum.
Representatives of some 40 NGOs operating in human rights participated in this event to discuss issues of exposing the real human rights situation in Mongolia to the international arena and improving the human rights conditions through a way of delivering voices of victims.
At the consultation, it was decided to set up a Forum of Mongolian NGO's to Prepare Human Rights Discussion. A decision was also made to prepare a human rights report and deliver it to the Human Rights Discussion. Following issues are expected to be presented: Forum's report or summary and report on human rights situation in Mongolia; report human rights violation concerning an event of Jul.1, 2008; environment and mining; human rights; minority human rights situation; migrates' human rights situation; and implementation issues of the right of voting and be elected.
