NATIONAL IRANIAN GAS EXPORT COMPANY `S MANAGING DIRECTOR VISITS SOCAR
Baku, January 13 (AzerTAc). Head of Azerbaijan`s State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met with managing director of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGEC) Seyid Rza Kesaizadeh.
Mr. Abdullayev said relations between the two countries in energy sector are on the high level. He said Iran played an important role in gas supplies to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Mr. Kesaizadeh praised the fact that Azerbaijan became a gas exporting country for a short period of time. He named the second gas pipeline put into commission between Turkmenistan and Iran as a momentous event. Managing director said despite Iran has the world`s second biggest reserves of natural gas, it signed memorandum with SOCAR to supply the northern regions of Iran with gas.
Iran`s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mammadbagir Bahrami was presented at the meeting.
