Bushehr nuclear plant’s second circuit equipment successfully tested

TEHRAN, Jan. 12 (MNA) -- The Russian reactor builder Atomstroyexport has successfully tested the second circuit equipment of the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
The test is a step toward the completion of the plant, and the hydraulic testing of second circuit equipment of the Bushehr nuclear power plant with pressure buildup to 110 kg/cm2 was successfully completed, RIA Novosti reported on Tuesday.
The successful completion of the test confirms that the equipment meets all the requirements, the report added.
Atomstroyexport previously announced that it successfully completed the hydraulic testing of primary circuit equipment of the plant.
Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Director Ali Akbar Salehi announced on December 15 that the important tests of the Bushehr nuclear power plant had been successfully conducted.
“Things are going well, and 2500 Russian experts are currently working at the construction site, and people will soon hear good news,” Salehi said in an interview broadcast on Iranian television.
He rejected the claims that Russia was deliberately delaying the start-up of the Bushehr plant and expressed hope that the nuclear power plant would become operational in the few next months.
The start-up of the power plant has been postponed due to technical problems, some of which were caused by political issues, Salehi added.
