Iran to export gas to Syria

Tehran, Jan 12, IRNA – Iranian and Syrian officials conferred on gas exports to Syria as well as ways to boost bilateral energy cooperation, it is reported on Tuesday.
The meeting was held in Tehran by Iran’s Oil Minister Masoud Mir-Kazemi and Syrian Minister of Economy and Trade Amir Husni Lutfi. Iran’s Mir-Kazemi in the meeting called for promotion of Tehran-Damascus economic relations.
He said bilateral cooperation in the region would benefit the two countries and save them from world recession. The Syrian minister said his travel to Iran was for a meeting of the committee on following up bilateral issues.
He added that Damascus is keen on holding more talks on gas export from Iran to Syria./end
