Iran-Qatar ties, exemplary model in region

Tehran, Jan 12, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Tuesday that relations between Iran and Qatar serve as an exemplary model for excellent regional ties.

According to the Presidential Office Website, President Ahmadinejad added in his meeting with the new Qatari Ambassador to Tehran Ibrahim bin Abdul-Rahman Hassan al-Muqaisib that “the two countries’ officials are determined to improve the level of bilateral ties to the highest possible level in line with both nations’ interests.”

The president emphasizing that Tehran considers no limits in expansion of ties with Doha, reiterated, “I hope for an ever expanding trend of bilateral ties and I assure you Iran considers no limits for such expansion of ties and cooperation.”

The new Qatari envoy, too, after presenting his credentials to Ahmadinejad, also presented a report on his objectives and plans during his tenure in Iran, aimed at further elevation of the level of bilateral cooperation.”

Ambassador Ibrahim bin Abdul-Rahman al-Muqaisib reiterated, “Qatar is determined to improve the level of economic and cultural relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran to a level to match our countries’ excellent political relations.” /end
