CENTRAL ELECTION COMMISSION RELEASES AZERBAIJAN MUNICIPAL ELECTION OUTCOME
Baku, January 12 (AzerTAc). Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC) Mazahir Panahov announced Monday the municipal election results as a CEC`s gathering approved a final protocol on the outcome of election.
“23 December municipal election will enter history books as one of exceptionally important events. All norms and requirements of the Constitution, Election Code and other acts of law were observed during the run-up to and conduct of the poll,” said Panahov.
CEC chief announced the election valid since it attracted the turnout of 32.04%. According to him, webcams were installed in 10% of polling stations. The election was monitored by 54 international and over 50,000 local observers who gave a mostly positive assessment of the poll.
The part of election materials studied by the CEC were sent to the Prosecutor General`s Office to consider.
