Iranian center publishing oldest Persian manuscript on herbal medicine
TEHRAN, Jan. 11 (MNA) -- “Al-Abniah an Haqayiq al-Adwiah”, which is the oldest Persian manuscript book about the basic principles of herbal medicine, has currently being published in Iran.
The book is being published by the Miras Maktoob Research Center, an Iranian institution specializing in the correction and publication of Iranian historical texts.
Since the original book is kept at the Austrian National Library, Professor Bert Fragner of the Austrian Academy of Sciences is supervising the publication of the manuscript, the Miras Maktoob reported on its website.
Iranian experts Ali-Ashraf Sadeqi and Iraj Afshar have also written introductions to the book, which will be released in March.
The original text was written by Abu Mansur Ali ibn Ahmad Asadi Tusi in 1055 CE.
