Iran FM in Damascus to discuss mutual ties
Damascus, Jan 11, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki arrived in Damascus Sunday morning to review issues of mutual interest with senior Syrian officials.
Upon his arrival, Mottaki was warmly welcomed by Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmad Arnous.
During his one-day visit, Mottaki is to meet President Bashar al-Assad and his counterpart Walid al-Muallem.
Mottaki's visit is taking place in response to the recent visit of al-Muallem to Tehran.
Mottaki will discuss Tehran-Damascus strategic ties in political, economic and cultural areas as well as the latest regional and international developments with Syrian officials./end
