Mohammed bin Zayed receives Nigerian minister
Abu Dhabi, June 13Th, 2008 (WAM) - General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy
Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces received yesterday Tijani Yahaya, Nigerian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, who is currently visiting the UAE.
Sheikh Mohammed discussed with the Nigerian Minister bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in all spheres, particularly in economic, industrial, agricultural and energy fields.
He welcomed the growth witnessed in the Emarati-Nigerian cooperation and expressed UAE's keenness to expand that cooperation and to encourage the private sector to play larger role in joint ventures and investments between the two countries.
Yahaya said that his country was looking forward to fruitful cooperation with the UAE. He praised the progress achieved by the UAE, thanks to its wise leadership.
Later, Sheikh Mohammed received Ammar Al Hakim, Deputy Head of the Iraqi Supreme Islamic council and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed current developments in Iraq and the efforts made by the national government there to impose security and to boost stability.
Sheikh Mohammed renewed UAE's support to Iraq and to all efforts aimed at ending its plight.
Al Hakim thanked the UAE for its fraternal stances towards Iraq and praised UAE's "positive move" of re-opening its embassy in Baghdad.
He added that the UAE continued to be among the first to help Iraq in difficult times.
The two meetings were attended by Mohammed Mubarak al Mazrouei, Under Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court.
