President Choummaly winds up Singapore visit

(KPL) President of the Lao PDR, Mr. Choummaly Sayasone, his wife and high-ranking delegation arrived home yesterday, ending his state visit to the Republic of Singapore from 8-11 June.
The visit was made at the invitation of the President S R Nathan of
Singapore.
During the visit, President Choummaly met President S R Natha and
both have vowed to continue developing bilateral cooperation in the coming times.
During their talks in Singapore on June 9, the two Presidents also spoke of bilateral cooperation as well as cooperation in
the framework of ASEAN.
President Choummaly hailed Singapore's co-operation and assistance in Laos' socio-economic development, particularly human resource development through short and long-term training courses and assist Laos to prepare for 25th SEA-Games.
The president also provided an overview and targets of the Lao
socio-economic development plan for 2006-2010 period, incentives to attract foreign investment and said Laos hoped Singapore would seek and join production development projects in the country.
A new hybrid orchid that is tall, vigorous and free-flowering has been named after the visiting President of Laos, Choummaly Sayasone, and his wife, Keosaychay.- end
