President inaugurates Iran's biggest aluminum project
Tehran, Jan 9, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurated Iran's biggest aluminum project in the southern city of Bandar Abbas in Hormuzgan province.
The project named Hormuz-Al will increase the country’s total aluminum production capacity by 47 percent raising the present production capacity of 310 thousand tons to 457 thousands.
It will also provide direct employment to 700 people with another 7,400 indirectly getting jobs through it.
The Hormuz-Al aluminum factory plan cost 400 million euros of foreign investment as well as 2,000 billion rials of domestic one.
The production capacity of the factory is 147,000 tons. /end
