PREMIER MEETS DEBORA KOMINI



Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold received Wednesday Mrs Debora Komini, a permanent coordinator of the United Nations (UN) and permanent representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to Mongolia.
The Premier said the ties between Mongolia and the UN are running with effects, and underlined an importance of a visit of Ban-Ki moon, the UN Secretary-General, paid to Mongolia July 2009.
The Prime Minister highly spoke significant contribution of Mrs Komini to expanding frame of the UN assistance to Mongolia and to implementing its activity plan.
Mrs Debora pointed out that the Mongolia-UN relationship has become a good example for other countries, and emphasized an importance of opening the International Research Center for Landlocked Countries in Mongolia. She appreciated a successful realization of the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDG) in Mongolia.
"The 50th anniversary of Mongolia's joining the UN will be celebrated in 2011. The UN will continue to support Mongolia in solving urgent problems and in spheres of mining, environment and population policy," said Mrs Komini.
By the way, the UNDP permanent representative will resign from the post soon.
