YOUNG AZERI CLAIMS 6th WIN IN A ROW IN EUROPEAN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP

Baku, 11 June, (AzerTAj)Young Azerbaijani chess player Gunay Mammadzade strengthened her lead in the European Championship in Batumi, Georgia, after increasing her undefeated streak to six, this time with a win over Georgian Ella Svanidze.

Mammadzade is followed by Georgian Nina Jalagonia and Azerbaijani Khanim Balajayeva.

In the boy`s event, Azerbaijanis Shamsad Akhundov and Chingiz Maharramli rank fourth and fifth.
