Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Khentii aimag-based our reporter B.Adiyakhuu sent Monday some brief news about activities and actions that have occurred there.
- In frames of "Sustainable livelihood-2" program, the "Tsenkher's echo" project will be implemented in the province's Tsenkhermandal soum to found a TV channel.
- The office of Finland's "FLAM" organization to Mongolia has run a five-day training for ten women on making felt products in Batshireet soum.
- A hospital of Khurkh village in Omnodelger soum has received 80 medical aid boxes in line of Mongolia-Japan joint "Vansemberuu" NGO.
- MNT 20 million has been granted to businessmen for small- and middle-sized production from the package of N.Ganbyamba MP in Darkhan soum. The money is granted after a project was selected for promoting family income at a decision of the soum's expanded meeting.
- Batnorov soum has published books about local history and distributed it to people.

Some achievements at agricultural sector

This year, over two million and 400 thousand heads of livestock of 7,086 families in 17 soums, six villages and 81 bagas (smallest administrative unit in localities) is passing the winter. Improper loss of big livestock was 97.4 thousand heads decreasing by 150 thousand against the previous year.
In 2009, the aimag sowed grain on 6,700 hectares thus harvesting 10.3 thousand tons. It means the aimag harvested more grain--by 7.7 thousand tons--against 2008.
The previous year, 12 new wells were dug in Bayankhutag, Batnorov, Bayan-Ovoo, Kherlen, Bayan-Adarga, Tsenkhermandal, Jargaltkhaan and Omnodelger soums, at money from the state budget and some projects and programs. By doing so, people irrigated 42 thousand hectares of pasture. In addition, herdsmen have dug 37 wells.
A branch of "Makh export" company that opened in Kherlen soum in August 15, 2009, has created 52 job places and supplied over 250 tons meat for export. Moreover, this company established a milk processing factory.
