Tehran, Jan 2, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mihman-Parast said on Saturday that a delegation from Strasbourg-based European Parliament will visit Tehran in the near future.
The visit aims to discuss ways to bolster Iran-European Union parliamentary ties.
He said that the EP delegation will be accompanied by the heads of parliamentary commissions from several European countries.
Speaking to IRNA, Mihan-Parast said that both sides will review issues of mutual interests as well as international developments during their talks.
"This is part of regular visits between both sides to help deepen ties in various fields," Mihan Parast added.
Iran’s nuclear program along with recent developments in the country might be on agenda of the meeting, he said.
On US Congress objection to the European Parliament delegation's visit to Iran, he said the visit of the EP delegation to Tehran has been finalized and such intervention leaves no impacts on both sides determination.
The date of the visit has yet to be fixed and will be publicly declared as soon as it is set, he said./end
