Bahraini, Syrian speakers to visit Iran
Tehran, Jan 2, IRNA – Parliament Speakers of Bahrain and Syria are to pay official visits to Iran in the next few days, it was reported on Saturday.
Bahraini Speaker Khalifa al-Dhahrani and that of Syria Mahmoud al-Abrash will be in Tehran at the invitation of Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani.
The Syrian speaker, heading a delegation, will fly to Tehran on January 5 on a four-day visit while al-Dhahrani is to visit the country on January 6 on a five-day stay.
The two speakers are planned to meet Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, their counterpart and Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.
They are also to hold talks with Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili as well as a number of other senior officials of the country on issues of mutual interest./end
