Govt. held dialogue with IOJ
Dhaka, Bnagladesh, June 11 (BSS)-General elections in the country
will be held according to the roadmap and all sides should come forward in creating a faith-based environment to this end instead of
doubts.
The government is hopeful about a successful ending of the dialogue.
After dialogue with the leaders of Islami Oikkya Jote (IOJ) Education and Commerce Adviser Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman stated this at a joint press briefing held at the Chief Adviser's Office (CAO).
The dialogue was held in presence of Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed.
IOJ leaders demanded general elections in October next considering the celebration of holy Eid-ul-Azha and holy Hajj in December next and raised 21 point demands.
Emphasizing on preferring the attitude of concession from all
sides for the sake of existence, development and welfare of the country, the leaders said IOJ is against all sorts of militancy,
imprudence and egoism in politics.
Communications Adviser Maj Gen (Retd) Ghulum Quader, Education and Commerce Adviser Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman, Foreign Affairs Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury and Law Adviser AF Hassan Ariff attended the dialogue.
Led by IOJ Chairman Mufti Fazlul Haque Amini the delegation,
among others, included four vice chairman Moulana Mohiuddin Khan,
Advocate Abdur Raqib, Peerzada Moinuddin Ahmed, Moulana Jasimuddin, secretary general Abdul Latif Nezami and joint-secretary general Mufti Wakkas.
Referring to progress of the work of Election Commission, Dr
Hossain Zillur said so far 95 percent of voter registration have
been completed that covers 7,62,13,680 voters across the country. - BSS.
