Trials of disrespecters of religious sanctities to start on Sunday

TEHRAN, Jan. 1 (MNA) -- The trials of seven people, who disrespected the Ashura rituals on December 27, will be held in Tehran from Sunday to Tuesday.

The Tehran General and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office has delivered the dossiers of these people to the Islamic Revolution Court of Tehran, the Mehr News Agency reported on Friday.

The dossiers of the people arrested for rioting on the day of Ashura will also be delivered to the Islamic Revolution Court of Tehran.

Earlier this week, Tehran Prosecutor General Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi announced that the office would seriously deal with the rioters and those who disrespected religious sanctities and their trials would be held as soon as possible.

December 27 was the day of Ashura, which is the tenth day of the lunar month of Muharram and the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his 72 companions.
