Asia, first destination of Iran's exports: official

Tehran, Dec 31, IRNA – Deputy Commerce Minister Babak Afqahi said on Wednesday that Asia has been the first destination of Iran’s exported goods during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (started March 21).

He added that the country’s non-oil exports to the Asian countries (without considering gas condensates) have reached dlrs 10.4 billion in the period.

Afqahi further announced that the amount of exports to member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) has increased by 10 percent.

Referring to Europe as the second destination of the Iranian commodities, he said the Islamic Republic has exported over one billion dollars worth of goods to the European states during the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year.

He remarked that dlrs 201 million worth of goods have been exported to several African countries in the same period, while commodities worth dlrs 152 million were exported to various American states in the period./end
