Tehran, Dec 31, IRNA – A group of pro-leader ralliers staged a protest gathering in front of the British Embassy in Tehran after Wednesday's nationwide rallies.
The group headed for the British Embassy after the rallies ended at the Enghelab Square.
The protesters chanted slogans such as “Down with Britain”, “Deport Ambassador of Old Fox”, and “Shut down the British Embassy”, voicing their strong objection to British officials’ interferences in Iran’s internal affairs.
A British citizen was arrested by the Iranian police officers during the Ashoura Day bloody riots.
Also, on Tuesday the British Ambassador to Tehran Simon Lawrence Gass was summoned to the foreign ministry and was informed of Iran's strong protest against his government’s interfering stands.
The ralliers performed their evening congregation prayer in front of the British Embassy in the middle of Ferdowsi Street.
The presence of diplomatic police forces in front of and around the embassy during the rally was noticeable./end
