MORIN KHUUR OF HONOR PRESENTED
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of outstanding morin khuur (national musical instrument)player G.Jamyan, the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received Tuesday the Morin Khuur of Honor from Ts.Purevkhuu, a head of the "Morin Khuur" center.
"Morin Khuur is the symbol of the Mongolians' unity. It could reach our times experiencing and sharing with the Mongolians all hundred-of-year sorrows and joys. Morin Khuur deserves to be present in every Mongolia family," said Purevkhuu and expressed a satisfaction with giving the Morin Khuur of Honor to the State Head.
In turn, the President said he is glad to receive the Morin Khuur and underlined that the state should promote and glorify those who carry immunities of Mongolian people's heritage and spirit.
During the ceremony, ran in the Government House, the People's Artists Ch.Batchuluun and Ch.Batsaikhan played the Morin Khuur. The instrument has been designed by D.Ulambayar and tuned by Ts.Purevkhuu.
