5 BILLION FOR AFFORESTATION CAMPAIGN
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Environment and Tourism is planning to spend MNT 5 billion on promoting the afforestation campaign in 2010.
Pursuant to the Law on Forest, the ministry has developed and released about 10 instructions and guidelines in 2009. It has planted over 7 million saplings on 4,740 hectares in 2009 nationwide as a part of the afforestation campaign. Some 120 organizations, entities and cooperatives contributed to this action.
The Ministry of Environment has put a goal to boost the forest management in 2010.
