Tehran, Dec 30, IRNA -- Head of Majlis Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Tuesday that Iran and Japan enjoy numerous opportunities and facilities for developing cooperation, especially in the field of nuclear energy.
In a meeting with Japanese Ambassador Japan to Iran Akio Shirota, he said that there is no negative point in Iran’s public opinion towards Japan serving as a proper background for bolstering bilateral friendly ties.
“Iran welcomes collaboration with Japan in all fields,” he said, underlining a resolve by Iranian parliament to strengthen friendly ties with Japan.
Referring to Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities under the full supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Boroujerdi also said that his country is keen on Japan’s cooperation in the field.
Shirota, for his part, said that Japan attaches great importance to friendly ties with Iran in all fields.
He also added that the Japanese political leaders are interested in developing ties with Iran.
He also underlined Iran’s role in regional cooperation.
