Iran summons British envoy to protest support for rioters
TEHRAN, Dec. 29 (MNA) – London’s ambassador to Tehran was summoned to the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday to hear Iran’s strong protest to the British foreign secretary’s “interfering” remarks about unrest in Tehran on Sunday.
Ambassador Simon Lawrence Gass vowed to convey Iran’s protest message to his country.
On Sunday, when people were marking Ashura rituals, demonstrators held protests and clashed with police forces.
However, British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said on Monday that rioters were showing “great courage.”
