ABOUT CHESS CONTEST FOR ANNIVERSARY OF DIPLOMATIC SERVICE

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The 19th chess contest of Mongolian top chess players named after Chin Van titled Khanddorj, the Mongolia's first Minister of Foreign Affairs, took place December 26-27 dedicated to 98th anniversary of diplomatic service of Mongolia.
A speech was given at the opening ceremony by G.Zandanshatar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, about the first Foreign Minister. Then he wished the attendees luck and successes.
The contest attracted 73 top chess players including seven players of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They competed with eight rounds. As the results, an international master Ts.Batchuluun took the first place with 6.5 points. He was followed by N.Battulga, a FIDE master (6.5 points); B.Khatanbaatar, a FIDE master (6.5 points); B.Gundavaa, a FIDE master (6.5 points); and D.Sharavdorj, a Grand Master (6.0 points).
Special prizes went to G.Jargalsaikhan, an advisor to the Foreign Minister for becoming the best chess player, and to an inter L.Myagmarsuren for becoming the best male player. Moreover, an international master of sports Ya.Batzaya became the top female player.
