MONGOLIA IS HOME TO 43 MILLION HEADS OF LIVESTOCK
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Mongolia is home to 43.657.100 heads of livestock according to a preliminary results of 2009 livestock census, the National Statistics Commission said Monday.
The total number of domesticated animals--sheep, goat, horse, cattle and camel--has increased by 0.9 percent or 368.600 heafds against the year of 2008, the Commission reported.
According to the preliminary results, the number of camel have increased 8.600 heads reaching 275.100, horse by 19.800 totalling 2.206.700, cattle--by 76.200 reaching 2.579.600, and sheep has risen by 762.900 making 19.125.200 heads.
The number of goat have declined by 498.900 totalling 19.470.500.
