UNESCO DIRECTOR GENERAL TO ADDRESS STUDENTS IN MOSCOW
MOSCOW, June 10 (Itar-Tass) - UNESCO Director General Junichiro Matsuura, who is visiting Russia, is expected to address students at Patrice Lumumba People's Friendship University Tuesday. The university provides tuition to Russians and students from dozens of foreign countries. It was named after Patrice Emery Lumumba, a leader of African anti-colonial struggle and the first President of the Republic of the Congo after its independence from Belgium. Matsuura came to Moscow to attend the 10th World Congress of the Russian Press that will held here June 11 to June 13. As he spoke to reporters upon arrival at the Vnukovo-2 VIP airport, Matsuura described the congress as an important event. The program of his visit includes meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who chairs Russia's Commission for UNESCO, the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II, and activists of Moscow's public quarters. The cultural program of his visit includes a trip to the famous Kolomenskoye Museum.
