NSW man shot by police dies in hospital
A man has died after being shot by police on the NSW Central Coast.
Police say the man, aged in his 40s, was wounded as a number of shots were fired
during an incident at The Rise, Lisarow, shortly after 4.30pm (AEDT) on Friday.
They had been called to the address after reports of a neighbourhood dispute.
"Officers were confronted by a man...who was allegedly armed with a knife and
behaving in a threatening manner," police said in a statement.
"He was treated by paramedics and taken to Gosford Hospital where he has since died."
A critical incident investigation team of homicide squad officers has been formed to
examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
