CENTRAL ELECTION COMMISSION`S CHIEF BRIEFS JOURNALISTS ON INITIAL VOTING RESULTS

Baku, December 24 (AzerTAc). Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov has briefed today journalists on preliminary results of the municipal election held Wednesday in the country.
Panahov said 31, 86 percent or 1, 462 074 voters cast ballots in the vote across the country.
He noted the CEC had received returns from 1651 municipalities, with 4668 out of 4813 polling stations presenting their reports.
Panahov said international observers “faced no serious irregularities” while monitoring the voting process.
“But unfortunately some pro-opposition media outlets provide biased information to cast shadow on the elections,” he added.
