COMMERCIAL COOPERATION WITH SUDAN, DEPUTY CEO AKGUN

IZMIR, June 10 (Anadolu Ajansi) - Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO), Ufuk Akgun, said Monday they would sign a protocol to develop commercial cooperation with Sudanese GIAD industrial city. A Sudanese trade delegation visited EBSO on Monday. "There are 50 important Sudanese industrial organizations operating under the umbrella of GIAD. The Sudanese businessmen have created a capital of one billion USD and are touring countries in which they may make investments," Akgun said. "GIAD formerly made a commercial cooperation with China. However, the cooperation with China ended due to products with low quality. The Sudanese businessmen have now turned their face to Turkey. The Sudanese entrepreneurs wish to sign a preliminary protocol with EBSO. We are happy about such a cooperation," Akgun said. Chairman of the Sudanese business delegation, Rabea Karim Mohmed, said "Sudan is a door to African and Asian markets. Turkish products have reached world standards. We are here for cooperation. Turkey has an excellent geographical position. We, as Sudan, are in the heart of Africa. We think Sudan will benefit Turkish businessmen in reaching Arabic and African countries. There are customs agreements between Arabic countries. A protocol would benefit both Turkey and Sudan." GIAD recently signed a protocol with the Ankara Chamber of Industry. - end.
