STATE HEAD MEETS BAN KI-MOON
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj has met with Ban Ki-moon, the United Nations Secretary-General after a completion of the UN Climate Change Conference-2009 and 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) held December 7-18 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Secretary-General emphasized that the COP15 was the biggest historical meeting held at level of the UN, and thanked Mr Elbegdorj for giving a speech on the podium of Copenhagen. Mr Ban Ki-moon said he believes that a final document of the conference will become an important fact for the mankind.
"The Copenhagen's conference had a big success," he said. Mr Ban Ki-moon expressed a gratitude to Mongolia's side for active works in global climate change issues.
In turn, the State Head of Mongolia said the COP15 was held fruitfully attracting attention of humankind and gathering world leaders at the same time. Mr Elbegdorj re-confirmed the position of Mongolia to develop active cooperation in reducing consequences of the climate change.
