Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Dornogobi province's Center of Standardization and Measurement has ensured 621 measuring appliances and 185 weights thaty arer used by 167 enterprisers and 148 people in 14 soums. By doing so, the aimag placed MNT 2.2 million in the state budget.
Dornogobi province has appliances that measure weights from 1kg to 1 ton of things. Zamyn-Uud soum will soon import a facility which measures loads of 100-150 tons. However, the aimag's measurement center is not able to ensure heavy weight measuring appliances, that is why this was done by experts from Ulaanbaatar city.
Due to the usage of E-measuring facilities, weights are becoming useless.

Saxauls (Gobi tree) are becoming extinct due to an increase of thefts, in "Khashaat" gobi area. Recent years, horse rining thieves from Zuunbayan and other soums have been destroying saxauls.
A group has been set up to confront the theft. It is headed by O.Bayanmonkh, a herdsman of Sainshand soum's 2nd baga (smallest administrative unit in localities).

An opening ceremony of a Center of Civil Development (CCD) has been held in frames of the biggest works of the central library of Sainshand soum.
This center has been equipped with hi-tech, Internet and E-guide at investments from the French "Areva" company, the "Koje Gobi" LLC and the "New Dornogobi" program. It also had 15 personal computers.
Ribbon cutting ceremony to open the CCD's was led by G.Ganbaatar, head of the Citizens' Representative Khural of the province, and the P.Gankhuyag, the aimag's governor. During the ceremony, a 12-year-old boy Z.Shijirbaatar was awarded with the medal of foremost reader named after D.Natsagdorj. The "Wise reader" diploma went to a senior reader D.Chimeddorj.
