NATIONAL PRODUCTION PROMOTED

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Proclamation of 2009 as the Year of Industrialization was fruitful and effective for promotion of the national production in Mongolia.
This conclusion was made at the meeting of a working group in charge of arranging and supervising the works for Industrialization Year. Within this campaign, a program was released to industrialize Mongolia, parliament passed the law on exempting manufacturing equipment and spare parts for small- and medium-sized enterprises from customs and Value Added Taxe.
In addition, documents were created such as guidelines to develop production in rural areas, the law on factory and technology and the social program on promoting cooperatives. Some MNT 30 billion was spent on implementing these documents in 2009. Thanks to financially assisting 1,559 entities and individuals, 397 new plants have been set up, and the operation of 1,162 small- and medium-sized enterprises has been expanded. As a result, a total of 5,500 new jobs have been created.
