Tehran, Dec 22, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said Monday evening in Cairo that the US and Zionist regime, who enjoy nuclear weapons, have humiliated and violated the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Addressing a press conference, he denounced the approach of the International Atomic Energy Agency towards Iran. "Although the Islamic Republic thoroughly observed all articles of the NPT, the UN nuclear watchdog did not assist Iran in its peaceful nuclear activities," he added.
On Iran-Egypt relations, he said both countries are important and influential states in the region.
Underlining the need for further expansion of all-out ties between the two states, he said the Zionist regime opposes close cooperation between the two major countries.
Tehran and Cairo are interested in expansion of ties, he said, adding that there will be opened a new chapter in bilateral cooperation in the future.
Although there may be differences between various countries, all Muslim states should bolster their relations with one another, Larijani reiterated.
Referring to the Zionist regime as the main challenge of the Islamic world, he stressed that all Muslim states are duty bound to support the oppressed people of Palestine.
On possible military attack of the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic, he emphasized that Tel Aviv does not dare to attack Iran.
Asked about Washington’s policies against Iran, the speaker said the Islamic Republic has been faced with the US conspiracies since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The Majlis speaker further rejected the idea that he had delivered a message from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to President Hosni Mubarak./end
