Former Arab League chief says Iran poses no threat to Arab states

Tehran, June 9, (IRNA) - Former Arab League secretary-general has said that the Islamic Republic of Iran poses no threat to the Arab world. In an interview with the Kuwait-based daily 'Ar-Ra'i al-Aam', Esmat Abdul-Maguid called for expansion of all-out relations between Iran and the Arab states. Referring to the threat Israel posed to the Middle East region, particularly the Arab countries, he stressed that the Arab states should pay due attention to such threats from Tel Aviv. Abdul-Maguid stressed that Iran-Arab states cooperation should be based on goodwill and friendship far away from competition.
