Iran, DR Congo determined to widen cooperation in mining sector

Pretoria, June 9, IRNA - Iranian Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo Hamid-Reza Qomi held talks with Congolese minister of mines on expansion of mutual mineral ties. Referring to the recent visit by high-ranking Congolese delegation to Iran, Qomi expressed Iran's readiness to implement the memorandum of understanding signed during the visit. Thanking Iran for helping in the country's reconstruction, the Congolese minister called Iran a great and developed country with modern technologies, particularly in the mining sector. Martin Kabwelubu Labilo expressed hope that cooperation in the mining sector will be discussed during the upcoming visit by Congolese delegation to Iran. Qomi also met the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Minister of Relations With Parliament Adolphe Lumanu. The talks focused on information about the new-established Congolese ministry.Lumanu said that establishing Iran-style Islamic Consultative Assembly and Iranian method for holding elections would be fine examples for world nations. - End.
