ABOUT GOLF COMPETITIONS NAMED AFTER CHINGIS KHAAN
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The Grand Chinggis Khaan Golf Cup competitions took place December 12-13 in Delhi, India, in the occasion of the 850th birth anniversary of Chingis Khaan to be marked in 2012. The organized by the Embassy of Mongolia in Delhi events ran in the men's and women's events in three divisions for 80 representatives and businessmen of India's government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 30 diplomats of the Embassies of Japan, Malayisa, Russia, Thailand, Czech Republic, China, Bhutan, Vietnam and other countries.
The action's main purposes are to propagandize Chingis Khaan, attract Indian tourists to Mongolia, and to promote business, the organizers say.
L.Nand, a deputy head of the Development Committee of Delhi city has become the winner and received the Cup of Chingis Khaan.
Present at the opening and awarding ceremonies were Salman Kurshid, a State Minister of India, and Tejendra Hanna, Vice Mayor of Delhi. Some Mongolian students studying in India have given a folk arts and contortions performances.
Over 10 companies of India and the "Ulaanbaatar" hotel of Mngolia sponsored the events.
