AZERI SOCIETY IN UAE SENDS LETTER TO US PRESIDENT
Baku, 21 December (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan society in the United Arab Emirates has sent a letter to President of the USA Barack Obama.
The letter reads: “We, the 50 million Azerbaijani people living in the world, would like to express our displeasure about the step taken by the US Congress of sending financial aid to separatist in Nagorno-Karabakh and highly request your putting a stop to this unjust situation.
Azerbaijan and the US are economic, political as well as military allies. If this step is put in action, not only will the ties of our governments collapse, but the ties of our entire nations. As the head of the Azerbaijani community in the United Arab Emirates, I would like to voice my opinion on the decision made by the Congress of the US and state how contradictory and undeserved this deed is toward our people. It is known to the world that Nagorno-Karabakh is a land occupied by Armenia and their troops, sending financial aid to support their lives in an occupied region is not only false, but a display of defense towards the separatists. We would like to hope that you, as a supporter of democracy and peace in the world understand our appeal to this decision made by the US government and hope that the ‘Democratic’ government of the United States of America does not give authorization to the supporting of occupants and terrorists on our Mother land. Nagorno-Karabakh is the pride of Azerbaijan and we hope that according to the four resolutions made by the United Nations, the occupiers of our land vacate the region.”
