IPU, active, influential body: Iran
Tehran, Dec 20, IRNA – Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani here on Sunday called the Interparliamentary Union (IPU) an active and influential body.
Talking to reporters at the International Mehrabad Airport prior to his departure for Cairo, Egypt, he praised the IPU’s significant role during the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
By taking clear positions, the IPU has always been influential in the regional developments, Larijani added.
The Majlis speaker, heading a delegation, left Tehran for Egypt this morning to attend the IPU meeting.
Larijani is to meet several Egyptian officials as well as a number of his counterparts from the IPU member states on the sidelines of the event.
Issues of mutual interest and the latest regional and international developments will top the agenda of Larijani’s talks./end
