Enemies attempted to damage Tehran-Baghadad relations

Tehran, Dec 20, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Ramin Mihman-Parast on Saturday strongly ruled out "the unfounded allegation made by foreign media on capture of Iraqi oilfield by Iranian armed forces".

He said that foreign media attempted to disrupt friendly relations between Iran and Iraq by propaganda campaign.

Mihman-Parast told IRNA that Iran and Iraq currently enjoy friendly and excellent ties.

Those who are not satisfied with such friendly ties between the two countries try to create rift by spreading improper language, he said.

Such technical issues which are quite natural would be resolved by the two countries officials through exchange of views, he pointed out.

Iran’s foreign ministry and other relative bodies are now investigating the case, he underlined.

Head of Majlis Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi on Saturday strongly ruled out the alleged capture of Iraqi oilfield by Iranian armed forces.

Iran’s Ambassador to Baghdad, Hassan Kazemi Qomi also ruled out authenticity of the news and said Iranian soldiers have not taken any action against the Iraqi territory./end
