IRAQI PM ARRIVES IN TEHRAN

Tehran, June 8 (IRNA) - Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maleki heading a high ranking delegation arrived here Saturday afternoon. At the Mehrabad Airport, the Iraqi delegation was welcomed by First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi. Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Energy as well as care taker of Economic and Finance Ministry were among the senior officials who were present at the airport to welcome Iraqi delegation. Official talks between Iraqi prime minister and Iran's first vice-president will start Sunday. Nouri al-Maleki will also meet with other Iranian senior officials and will discuss issues of mutual interest, especially the issue of security and energy, expansion of ties in all fields as well as regional and international issues. The visiting prime minister is scheduled to confer with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili. He will talk with Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and Intelligence Minister Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejeie tonight at Sa'dabad Complex in Tehran. Iraqi ministers of Finance, Defense, Water Resources, Electricity are accompanying the prime minister. Nouri al-Maleki is to visit the holy city of Mashhad at the end of his official visit.
