STATE HEAD MEETS LEADERS OF COUNTRIES

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj met Thursday with state and governmental heads countries during the UN Climate Change Conference of 2009 being held December 7-18 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The President exchanged views on the bilateral relations and international issues including global climate change matter with Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany; Jose Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Commission (EC); Kevin Rudd, the Prime Minister of Australia; Lee Myung-bak, the President of the Republic of Korea; and with Stjepan Mesic, the President of the Republic of Croatia.
The State Head of Mongolia thanked Mrs Merkel for sending a congratulatory greeting to the Mongolians on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Mongolia's Democratic Revolution celebrated December 10 nationwide. He expressed a willingness to cooperate with Germany in enriching the bilateral comprehensive partners relationship with economic contents. Mrs Merkel said she appreciated Mongolia's choosing democratic way and said she has a plan to pay a visit to Mongolia.
The Australian Premier Mr Rudd thanked Mongolia for adhering to active position towards the climate change issue and underlined his willingness to collaborate with regional and developing countries within this issue. Then the dignitaries exchanged views on the Mongolia-Australia relations.
Mr Barroso mentioned that he co-chaired the UN Summit on Climate Change that took place September 2009 in New York, USA, together with Elbegdorj. The EC's President said the European Union (EU) "is ready to develop collaboration with Mongolia in the direction at international area. They also shared opinions on the ties between Mongolia and the EU.
After the meeting, the Queen of Denmark Margrethe II and Prince Consort Henrik had banquet with heads of states and governments. Ts.Elbegdorj sat by the Crown Prince of Denmark Ferederik who visited several times Mongolia. His knowledge about Mongolia is quite good. Consort Henrik is a descent from France and a diplomat. Although he was appointed as the first French Ambassador to Mongolia in 1967, he could not take the post due to marrying to the Queen.
The banquet of honor was broadcasted directly through the central TV channel of Denmark.
