AZERBAIJANI, RUSSIAN LEADERS MEET IN St PETERSBURG

Baku, June 7 (AzerTAj) - Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev and Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev met at the Konstantinovsky Palace in Saint Petersburg on Friday. During the talk, Dmitry Medvedev said relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are dynamically developing. He praised the increase in the two countries` mutual trade, describing it as an important component in the bilateral relations. The Russian President said he will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan in early July. President Ilham Aliyev said the Russian leader`s trip to Azerbaijan in his first year in office will be a sign of a high level of the bilateral ties. He expressed hope the Azerbaijan-Russia relations will be as fruitful as before. “We will be working actively in this direction. The relations between our countries can be characterized as partner ones, they are developing dynamically, positively. We have a broad format of discussions, a broad agenda for the day�, said the Azerbaijani leader. President Ilham Aliyev also stressed “we are actively cooperating in the region, we also have big progress in the bilateral relations, and this pleases us�.
