Iranian official urges promotion of exchange with Kazakhstan

Tehran, Dec 15, IRNA – Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari called for fostering trade exchange between Iran and Kazakhstan and removing the hindrances to this end.

Visiting Ghazanfari made the remarks in his meeting with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeyev.

Ghazanfari also called in the meeting for the reduction of tariffs in order to boost bilateral commercial cooperation.

Ghazanfari said Tehran wants regional cooperation with Astana, adding that the two countries should start direct flights for the purpose of promoting industrial, trade and agricultural investments.

Meanwhile, the Kazakh official said that Iran is Kazakhstan’s major trade partner, citing Iran as the best route from which Kazakhstan’s wheat would be exported to the regional countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan./end
