CHINGIS KHAAN'S ORDER AWARDED
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Democratic Revolution, the highest prize of the Democratic Party (DP)--Chingis Khaan's Order--was bestowed upon Ya.Sanjmyatav, a governor of Zavkhan aimag and a member of the DP's Executive Council, on Wednesday.
The Order was handed to Sanjmyatav by N.Altankhuyag, a chairman of the DP. Present at the ceremony were D.Erdenebat, the DP Secretary-General, and Ch.Saikhanbileg, a head of the DP's faction at parliament.
The award was given to him in recognition of his significant contribution to steady struggle for democracy, for forming and protecting democratic values in localities.
The Chingis Khaan's Order is awarded to at least two people a year pursuant to rules of the DP. The very first awardee was P.Ochirbat, the first President of Mongolia. Then it went to the Olympic champions and State Honored Sportsmen N.Tuvshinbayar, Badar-Uugan, and a Paralympic champion D.Baatarjav.
