USA AMBASSADOR IN BAYANZURKH DISTRICT

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA Mr Jonathan Addleton worked Tuesday in the city's biggest district Bayanzurkh and got acquainted with the district's administration.
The district's governor B.Batzorig told Mr Addleton about socio-economic situation of Bayanzurkh. The Ambassador expressed his satisfaction with development of the Mongolia-USA cooperation in many spheres, and said he will make efforts to widen the bilateral cooperation. He also spoke about projects and programs implemented in Mongolia.
The district's governor thanked the U.S side for decisions to establish registration services in the city's four districts and to donate money of USD 17.2 million for buying necessary facilities and running repairs in accordance with an agreement established between the Millennium Challenge Account and the government of Mongolia.
After this meeting, Mr Addleton got au fait with activities of the administration's squad of civil registration. This squad has 10 employees who serve for 350-400 people a day.
The same day, the Ambassador visited the district's 21st khoroo (smallest administrative unit in Ulaanbaatar). This khoroo is one of the biggest administrative subdivisions of the city. It has 18,800 people. The Ambassador was interested mainly in activities of land license granting, address and registration services.
