Egyptian official confers with Majlis Speaker

Tehran, Dec 15, IRNA – The new Head of Egypt Interest Section to Tehran Allaeddin Yousef conferred with Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani here on Tuesday.
Referring to the historical and civilizational commonalities between Iran and Egypt, Larijani said that both nations have always had a progressive civilization, especially in cultural arena, according to the report of the Majlis Media Department.
Underlining the necessity of expansion of bilateral cooperation, the speaker said that Iran and Egypt as two important countries of the region and Islamic world can play an effective role in solving regional and world problems.
The Egyptian diplomat, by expressing pleasure over being in Iran, called Islamic Republic of Iran as an important country with old history and civilization.
He added there are plenty of motives for developing joint cooperation in the field of international issues.
Yousef continued that trade exchange level between the two countries is not adequate and called for expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and Egypt./end
