Israel will be humiliated if it wages another war against Gaza: Leader
TEHRAN, Dec. 15 (MNA) -- Hamas Political Bureau chief Khaled Meshaal met Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday in Tehran.
At the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the Palestinian people’s resistance against Israel and said resistance is the only way to save Palestine.
Despite all the hardships, oppression, and crimes against the Palestinian people, a bright future is awaiting Palestine, he added.
Ayatollah Khamenei also lauded the Hamas leaders’ resistance in the face of pressure, threats, and political maneuvers.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran regards the issue of Palestine as its own problem and regards supporting it as a religious duty,” he noted.
The Leader said the enemies have tried every trick in the book to create indifference in Iran with regard to Palestine, but they have failed every time.
One of the main reasons for the arrogant powers’ animosity toward Iran is its support for Palestine, but Iran will not back down on this issue, he stated.
Commenting on Israel’s recent threats, he said if the Zionist regime wages another war against Gaza, it will suffer an even more humiliating defeat than it faced in January 2009.
Meshaal thanked the Supreme Leader and the Iranian nation for their brave stance in support of Palestine and briefed Ayatollah Khamenei on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip.
“Resistance is the strategic choice of Hamas, resistance groups, and the Palestinian people, and we will never surrender to pressure,” Meshaal stated.
If Israel blunders and decides to wage another war against the Gaza Strip, it will suffer a great defeat because the pious Gazans are more prepared than they were before the 22-day war, he added.
