Tehran, Dec 15, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mihman-Parast said on Tuesday that promotion of regional cooperation would benefit the entire globe.
Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he added that Tehran attaches great importance to the territorial integrity of all countries in the region as well as expansion of ties between those states.
Referring to the regional crises, he voiced Tehran’s readiness to help remove the existing tension from the whole region.
Accusing the US forces of the kidnapping of Iranian national Shahram Amiri during a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, he said the Foreign Ministry is following up his case seriously.
Asked whether Amiri had a meeting with inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mihman-Parast said such baseless news indicates that the Western security systems are aware of Amiri’s whereabouts.
On the current visit to Tehran of head of the Political Bureau of the Palestine Resistance Movement (Hamas) Khalid Mashal, he said the trip is taking place within the framework of issues of mutual interest./end
