"LIFE IS WONDERFUL" EVENT RUNS
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ December 03 is annually marked as the “International Day for Persons with Disabilities”. Various events are organized in Mongolia in relation to this day. However, the planned events were postponed due to the swine flu outbreak.
Therefore, on December 09, 2009, an event called “Life is wonderful" was organized by governmental, NGOs international organizations along with private sector representatives with the participation of the disabled as part of the "International Day for Persons with Disabilities".
The event ran in exhibition hall of Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI). During the event, different organizations that work for people with disabilities, such as project implementers and manufacturers of prosthetics, presented their projects and operations to the public, while people with disabilities displayed their handcrafts.
In addition, a forum was held to discuss ways of increasing the business income of the disabled. The event was rounded up by the concert of awardees from "Khatan Duulal" cultural festival for people with disabilities.
"Life is Wonderful" event initiated by "Khatan Duulal" cultural NGO for disabled people and supported by the Khan Bank Foundation, MNCCI and National Federation of Organizations for People with Disabilities, was a success as it provided one-stop information for disabled people and encouraged their business initiatives.
